The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. To the Red Cross, every crisis is personal. From floods to loneliness, it’s not the scale of the crisis that matters.
We help more than a million vulnerable people in the UK every year, and many more around the world, by helping them prepare for, withstand and recover from emergencies in their own communities.
Every year we respond to thousands of emergencies in the UK, playing a key role supporting the emergency services. From floods and heavy snow to house fires and transport accidents, we are ready to respond.
We train around 370,000 people in first aid in the UK every year, preparing them to cope with accidents and emergencies in the home, at work or out and about. Our volunteers also provide first aid cover at thousands of public events across the country.
We help thousands of people across the UK keep their independence by providing short-term support after a hospital stay - or by preventing admission in the first place. Our service include care in the home, medical equipment, transport and therapeutic care.
Red Cross services locally include our Mobility Aids department in North Baddesley Health Centre where wheelchairs and other mobility aid are loaned out Monday to Friday 10am to 12pm Tel: 02380 743405
The Red Cross thrift shop at the back of the village Hall raises essential funds for these services and is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (excepting Wednesday) and every third Saturday 10am to 3pm (excepting December). Donations of clothes and bric-a-brac gratefully received. 02380 735089.
